The basics

What Do Fire Protection Services Cover?

A plain explanation of what it covers and how it’s different from hiring a cleaning crew.

Fire protection covers every system in your building whose job is to detect a fire, warn people about it, help them get out, and hold it back until the fire service arrives. That means the fire alarm panel and its detectors and pull stations, monitored alongside the same site-access standards covered under Security & Access Control Services, the sprinkler and standpipe systems, portable fire extinguishers, emergency lighting and exit signs. Each has its own inspection schedule set by the Ontario Fire Code, ranging from monthly visual checks through to annual testing. The part building owners often miss is that responsibility sits with them rather than with whoever last serviced the equipment. If a device fails and the records show a missed inspection, the building owner answers for it.

Checking It When You Remember

A Scheduled Fire Protection Program

LIFE SAFETY SYSTEMS

The Systems Only Matter If They Work On The Day.

Fire safety equipment spends its whole life doing nothing, which is exactly why it gets overlooked. A detector covered in dust after a renovation, an extinguisher that lost pressure two years ago, an exit sign whose battery no longer holds a charge, a sprinkler head painted over by a contractor who did not know better, or a stalled elevator car that traps someone during an evacuation, the kind of failure covered under Learn about our Elevator & Escalator Maintenance Services. None of these announce themselves. They are found either during an inspection or during a fire, and only one of those outcomes is recoverable. A scheduled program, run as part of the same full-scope coverage as Explore Total Facility Management Solutions, exists to make sure the first happens instead of the second, and to leave you with the written record proving the building was maintained properly.

Industries

Industries We Serve

Every building type carries different fire safety obligations. We build the program around yours.

Fire safety requirements scale with what a building does and who is inside it. A long-term care home where residents cannot self-evacuate is held to a different standard than a warehouse, the same distinction covered on See our Warehouse & Logistics Facility Management page, and a data centre often uses suppression systems that would be inappropriate anywhere else. The same variation applies to a corporate lobby, where exit signage sits alongside the standards covered under our Reception & Front Desk Services solutions. The inspection schedule is built around your building’s classification and occupancy rather than applied from a template.

How it works

How Our Fire Protection Process Works

1

System survey

We identify every fire safety device in your building and what standard each is inspected to, at no cost.

2

Compliance schedule

You receive an inspection calendar covering monthly, annual and multi-year requirements.

3

Scheduled inspections

Trained personnel carry out each inspection on the date it is due, with disruption planned around your operations.

4

Deficiency reporting

Anything found is written up, quoted for repair and tracked until it is closed rather than simply noted.

5

Records and renewals

Certificates and reports are held in one place and the next inspection is booked before the last one is filed.

Why Cleaning 365

Why Choose Cleaning 365 For Fire Protection

Compliance is a paperwork problem as much as a technical one, and we handle both.

Scheduled to the code, not to convenience

Inspection intervals are set by the Ontario Fire Code, and your calendar is built from them rather than from ours.

Deficiencies tracked to closure

A report that lists faults and stops there has not solved anything. We quote, repair and close each item out.

One record, one place

Certificates, reports and test records held together, so producing them for an inspector takes minutes.

24/7 emergency response

Alarm faults and system failures do not wait for business hours, and neither do we.

Part of a wider building program

Fire systems sit alongside cleaning, HVAC and building maintenance under one contract and one point of contact.

Canada-wide coverage

From a single GTA property to a national portfolio, with the same standard applied at every site.

What clients say

Trusted For Building Compliance

“Our fire inspection records were spread across three years of email attachments. When the fire inspector arrived we spent two days assembling what should have taken ten minutes. Having it all in one place has removed that entirely.”

Property Manager

Multi-tenant office building, Mississauga

“The first survey found eleven extinguishers past their service date and two exit signs with dead batteries. None of it was deliberate, nobody was tracking it. It is tracked now.”

Long-term care home, Vaughan

FAQs

Fire Protection, Answered

The Ontario Fire Code sets the intervals, which include annual testing of the full system alongside more frequent checks on certain devices. We build your calendar from the requirements that apply to your building rather than a generic schedule.

The building owner. Responsibility does not transfer to whoever last serviced the equipment, which is why keeping the records current matters as much as doing the work.

It is written up in a deficiency report, quoted for repair and tracked until it is fixed. A report that lists problems without closing them out leaves you no better off.

Yes. Extinguishers, emergency lighting, exit signs, sprinkler and standpipe systems are all covered alongside detection and alarm equipment.

Yes, and most clients prefer it that way. Fire systems sit under the same facility management contract as cleaning, HVAC and building repairs, with one point of contact for all of it.

Inspection reports, test certificates and deficiency records for every device, held together and kept current so they can be produced on request.
